Colourblind options for the motive, relationship and skill bars
- The bars that go from red to green can now be recoloured. Options – Graphics has a new “Accessibility…” button with a colourblind setting: Off, Protanopia (red-blind), Deuteranopia (green-blind) or Tritanopia (blue-blind). Pick the one that matches and the motive bars, the relationship bars and the skill bars are redrawn in colours whose ends stay apart. For red and green blindness that means the low end reads as blue-grey and the high end as yellow, instead of two shades of the same olive.
- The skill bars and their locks are included. The colour of a skill bar is part of the artwork rather than something the game draws, so the setting rebuilds those images too – the filled section, the locked section and the level you are hovering over all shift together.
- It takes effect straight away and is remembered. There is a preview of both bars in the dialog so you can compare the four settings, nothing needs restarting, and the choice is saved with the rest of your settings. Layout, numbers and tooltips are untouched – only the colours change.
31 new objects in Buy mode, 25 more waiting for Halloween, 3 new walls
- 31 new objects have been added to the catalog and can be bought now. Among them three classic Fords and Bob Newbie’s rusty VW Bug for the driveway, a set of community plumbing – Community Sink, Community Outhouse Potty and “The Apocalypse” Community Shower – army bunk beds and a matching ceiling lamp, a kitchen run of Antique Oven, Wood Burning Stove and the Country Oak and Arborite dishwasher, five colours of Neighborhood Grougler Tree, the “Soapbox” Podium, the Tool Chest and The Procrastinator 3000. They are searchable by name in the catalog like anything else.
- 25 Halloween items are in the game and go on sale on 1 October. Six Halloween dummies (Vampire, Witch, Banshee, Orlock, Ghost Pirate and Zombie Dad), four headstones for the Newbie, Crumplebottom, Alvarez and Goth families, bone and skull furniture, the Haunted Autumn Tree, the Haunted Scarecrow and The Hearse. They are hidden from the buy pages until the Halloween window opens on 1 October and stay up until 1 November.
- 3 new wall patterns have been added to the wall catalog, alongside the 207 build-mode items added on 7 September.
Objects that light their own room no longer throw an error
- Fixed a “SimAntics Exception” some objects could throw while sitting there doing nothing. Objects that turn their own light on and off – the Ham Radio is one – could hit an error the moment the game restarted their behaviour on its own, which threw the error dialog and reset the object. The error is gone; the light itself was never the problem.
The fishing pier no longer looks flooded
- The fishing pier’s deck is above the water again. Placed on a pond, the pier lost its planking – you were left with the mooring posts and rope railings standing in open water. The whole object was being drawn a fraction of a tile too low, so the water covered the deck. Existing piers pick this up as soon as the lot loads; you do not need to re-place them.
