NewSO Bills Update: Patch Notes
The one where your Sim finally figures out where all the money went.
Bills are finally here
The Bills button on the house panel is no longer “coming soon” or “in beta.” It now opens a complete household ledger.
You can access it from the lot controls to see how much you earned, what you spent, and whether buying that DJ booth was actually a good idea.
Daily transaction history
Your finances are separated by day, with one page for each day.
- Use the
<and>arrows beside the date to move between days. - Recent pages are labeled Today, Yesterday, and 2 Days Ago. Older pages show the date.
- The Today button takes you straight back to the current day.
- Days without any activity still appear and display “No transactions recorded for this day.”
- Your ledger is saved between reconnects, client restarts, and server restarts.
- Transaction history is kept for 90 days.
Summary tab
The Summary tab gives you a quick breakdown of the selected day.
At the top, you’ll see your total Income, Expenses, and Net. A positive net is shown in green, while a negative net is shown in red.
Transactions are grouped into the following categories:
- Object Earnings
- Job Earnings
- Player Trades
- Object Purchases & Sales
- Food / Restocking
- Services
- Lot & Housing
- Casino & Games
- Clothing
- Bonuses & Events
Categories with a + can be expanded for a more detailed breakdown. This lets you see exactly which objects or players were involved, whether it was your easel making money or your slot machine eating it.
Details tab
The Details tab shows every transaction for the selected day in chronological order.
Each entry includes the time, transaction type, description, and amount. Income appears in green, and expenses appear in red.
Descriptions now include useful information:
- Object earnings show the object that paid out, such as “Painting Easel +§125.”
- Player trades show who sent or received the money, such as “Received from JohnSmith +§500” or “Paid JaneDoe -§250.”
- Service charges include the Sim who charged you, so you can finally keep an eye on that maid bill.
You can filter the list by All, Income, or Expenses.
What is tracked?
The ledger records nearly everything that moves simoleons.
Income includes:
- Object payouts from easels, workbenches, canning stations, tip jars, and similar objects
- Job payouts
- Player trades
- Buy-mode object sales
- Casino winnings
- Login bonuses and event rewards
- Refunds
Expenses include:
- Catalog purchases and object upgrades
- Fridge and machine restocking
- Maid and gardener visits
- Pizza and other NPC services
- Door charges
- Build-mode purchases
- Lot expansions
- Casino bets
- Clothing rack purchases
- Deliveries
Transactions are only recorded after the money actually moves. Failed purchases and cancelled trades will not appear in the ledger.
UI cleanup
- The Bills button now lines up correctly with the other house-panel buttons.
- It also has a proper tooltip.
- The old Bills debug grid has been removed. It will not be missed.
A few notes
- The ledger begins recording transactions with this update. Earlier days will appear empty because no historical transaction data exists.
- Transaction history is stored per Sim and is only visible to you.
- All displayed times use server time.
- Daily pages also follow the server’s day boundary, so transactions are grouped consistently for every player regardless of time zone.
