NewSO Skill Object Payout Guide

Skill Objects can be one of the best ways to make money in NewSO, but the highest-skilled job is not always the best-paying job.

Your payout changes based on your skill, how many Sims are working with you, the current daily market rate, and whether that job has the daily bonus.

Once you understand the payout board, you can make much better decisions about what to work each day.

The Four Things That Affect Your Pay

1. Your Skill

Every Skill Object is tied to a specific skill.

The higher that skill is, the more each payout is worth.

Your skill level is one of the biggest factors you control, but it is only one part of the calculation.

This means a lower-skill job with a great market rate can sometimes beat a maxed-out skill with a terrible rate.

2. Your Group

Working near other Sims using the same type of Skill Object increases the payout for everyone in the group.

The group bonus increases up to 10 Sims and tops out at roughly 2.2× pay.

Once the group reaches 10 Sims, adding more Sims does not increase the bonus any further.

So if 20 people want to grind the same job, two properly sized groups can be more useful than one oversized group.

Some jobs, including Telemarketing, Typewriter, and Piñata, also have built-in tuning that helps make solo play more worthwhile.

3. Today’s Market Rate

Every Skill Object has a daily rate that can range from roughly:

50% to 150%

That is a huge difference.

A job at 150% is paying three times the market rate of a job sitting at 50%.

This is why you should always check the payout chart before deciding what to grind.

4. The Daily Bonus

Some days, one job is highlighted with a white bar.

That job receives an additional bonus of roughly 15% to 25%.

The bonus is already included in the percentage shown at the top of the chart, so you do not need to add it yourself.

There is also a small chance that no job receives the white-bar bonus that day.

If you do not see a white bar, nothing is broken.

How to Read the Payout Chart

Each job has two important numbers.

The Number at the Top

The percentage at the top of the bar is today’s payout rate.

For example:

Higher is better.

The Number Inside the Bar

The number inside the bar shows how much that job moved compared with yesterday.

For example:

This lets you see not only what is paying well today, but also which jobs are moving up or down.

Why the Rates Change

The payout rates are not simply random.

NewSO looks at recent Skill Object activity across the shard.

Jobs that players have been heavily grinding tend to lose value.

Jobs that have been ignored tend to gain value.

In simple terms:

Popular jobs get pushed down. Neglected jobs get pushed up.

That means a job sitting at 150% today is often there because players have not been using it much recently.

If everyone sees that 150% and piles onto it, its rate may begin dropping over the next few days.

At the same time, another ignored job may begin climbing.

The market is designed to keep players moving between different money objects instead of camping the exact same one forever.

Today’s Board: Example

Here is how to read a board like today’s:

If your skill levels were equal across every job, Board and Piñata would be today’s best choices, with Gnome almost tied with them.

Easel and Phone are also strong.

Potion, Jam, and Writer are currently much weaker choices.

Looking at the Daily Movement

The change numbers tell an even more interesting story.

Writer

Writer is at 65% with a change of -83.

That means it was around 148% yesterday and then collapsed to 65% today.

This is a perfect example of why you should not assume yesterday’s best job is still good today.

Gnome

Gnome is at 148% with a change of +34.

That puts it at roughly 114% yesterday, meaning it became much more valuable today.

Piñata

Piñata is at 150% with a change of +12.

It was already good yesterday and has now reached the top of the market range.

Phone

Phone is still strong at 133%, but its -16 movement shows that it is trending downward.

It may still be worth working today, but it is a good example of a job that could continue losing value if players keep using it heavily.

Jam

Jam is the white-bar bonus job in this example.

Even with the bonus included, it is only paying 72%.

This is important:

The white bonus job is not automatically the best job on the board.

Always look at the final percentage.

Your Skill Still Matters

The highest percentage on the board is not automatically the best choice for your Sim.

You still need to compare the rate against your skill level.

For example, imagine you have:

Today’s rates are:

A Skill 10 job has roughly a 3.0× skill multiplier.

So Writer would be approximately:

3.0 × 0.65 = 1.95×

A Skill 8 job is roughly a 2.6× skill multiplier.

So Gnome would be approximately:

2.6 × 1.48 = 3.85×

Even though your Gnome skill is lower, it can still massively outperform Writer because the market rate is so much better.

Another Example

Suppose you are deciding between:

The Skill 10 job works out to roughly:

3.0 × 0.5 = 1.5×

The Skill 6 job is roughly:

1.8 × 1.5 = 2.7×

So the Skill 6 job can pay considerably better even though your skill is lower.

This is why blindly grinding your highest skill is not always the best strategy.

What Should You Grind?

Before you start working, check three things:

  1. Your skill level for that object
  2. Today’s market percentage
  3. Whether you can get a good group bonus

The best choice is usually a strong combination of all three.

A slightly lower skill with a much better daily rate can easily beat your maxed skill.

A Simple Daily Strategy

When you log in:

  1. Check the payout chart.
  2. Find the jobs sitting near the top of the market.
  3. Compare those jobs against your strongest skills.
  4. Look at which jobs are rising and which are falling.
  5. Join other Sims when possible to improve your group bonus.
  6. Remember that the group bonus caps at 10 Sims.
  7. Do not assume yesterday’s best job is still the best today.

What the Colors and Movement Can Tell You

You can use the board for more than just picking the biggest number.

A job that is high and still rising may be worth jumping onto immediately.

A job that is high but falling sharply may still be good today, but could be on the way down.

A low-paying job that is beginning to rise may become one of the better choices over the next few days.

The chart is not just showing today’s economy. It is also giving you clues about where the economy is moving.

The Main Thing to Remember

There is no single Skill Object that is permanently the best money-maker.

NewSO’s payout system is designed to move the best opportunities around.

Your best job today may be terrible tomorrow.

The players who get the most out of Skill Objects will usually be the ones who:

Check the board, compare it with your skills, and follow the money.
