Sims no longer freeze up ordering a drink at the bar
- Ordering a drink at the Downtown Bar could lock the sim’s action solid: the order would spin until the game gave up and reset whatever they were doing. Nothing was served and nothing said why.
- The cause was a search that walked around the bar’s own parts looking for the bottle shelf and never stopped when it couldn’t find one – so it went round and round forever. It now stops after one lap.
- This one applies well beyond the bar. The same never-ending search sat behind twenty-three different actions on that object, and behind other imported objects too, so a whole family of “my sim locked up when I clicked that” reports should be gone.
- When something does get stuck in future, the error now names the object and the action involved instead of just saying “infinite loop”.
Magic Town vendors now take Simoleons
- The four Spellbound traders – the Faerie Queen, Vicki Vampiress, Apothecary Todd and the Mystery Man – used to want MagiCoins, a currency almost nobody could get hold of. Their whole stock was effectively unbuyable.
- They now sell for plain Simoleons, and every price is shown right on the menu, so you can see what something costs before you commit to it.
- Prices come from the original Magic Town cart pricing, so a Faerie Queen ingredient costs the same as it always did at the cart. Ingredients run from §20 for Butter up to §995 for Diamond Dust. A Magic Wand is §50 and the Magic Starter Kit – a wand plus three ingredients – is §220.
- If a purchase can’t be handed over for any reason, you are refunded in full automatically.
- Any MagiCoins already in your magic inventory are harmless and can be ignored.
The in-lot “Chat” button steps out of the way
- The new Chat button in the top-left corner of a lot now only appears when the chat window is actually closed. While chat is open it hides itself instead of sitting on top of the lot.
- It still flashes when someone talks with your chat window closed, and ctrl+H works the same as ever. Thanks to squeezannah for the suggestion.
